Open Wide - And Show Us Your TEETH!

Children's Museum LogoHave you ever wondered why your baby teeth fall out? Or wanted to know what the inside of a tooth looks like? Well, you can discover the answers to these and other interesting tooth truths when you visit the hands-on TEETH! exhibit at the Providence Children's Museum.

Join the thousands of children and their families who have already visited the exhibit, which features a ten-times life-size model of the human mouth wearing size 22 sneakers.

The exhibit is targeted especially to children age 5 to 8, when a loose tooth is a major consideration. Activity stations explore what happens when adult teeth come in, document tooth development from infancy through dentures, and examine what happens when a baby tooth falls out. Of course, in the United States, it's the Tooth Fairy who gathers them. But in Cambodia, custom dictates that baby teeth are thrown onto the roof of the house to ensure the permanent tooth comes in straight. The exhibit includes many tooth traditions like these from around the world.
